Summary
The course deals with the major problems in European History from the classical period to the present day. The purpose is to help foreign students receive a brief introduction to the historical past of the European continent, the evolution of the different states and nations and their impact on global political, economic and cultural development. Another goal is to familiarize the students with the most basic concepts, vital to understanding the European history. On focus are the developments of the time of the Renaissance, the Great divergence, Religious Wars, Enlightenment, Conservatism, Liberalism, Nationalism, Republicanism and Constitutionalism.
