Анотация
Близкият изток е регион на интензивно противопоставяне на култури, етноси и политики. Курсът проследява зараждането на конфликта между араби и евреи от края на XIX в., когато започват първите преселнически вълни на евреи към земите на Палестина до нашето съвремие. Внимание е посветено на проблемни аспекти като ролята на Първата световна война за региона, управлението на Британския мандат в Палестина и се разглеждат началните етапи на арабски национализъм и идеологията на ционизма. Анализира се интернационализирането на конфликта след 1945 г. Важни акценти в Близкоизточния конфликт, обект на курса са също Суецката криза, Шестдневната война, Йом Кипур и интифадите. Обсъждат се съвременните измерения на конфликта в Близкия изток, тъй като проблематиката е актуална и е важна част от развитието на съвременната международна политика.
