-
Annotation/
In the modern world, democracy has become not only one of the dominant political ideas, but also the most widespread form of government. It inherited some of its features from the Ancient world, but began its true development in Modern times, first in the countries of the Atlantic region – England / Great Britain, the USA, France. The lecture course traces the historical evolution of democracy from ancient Greece to the twentieth century, focusing on how and what types of democratic regimes were established during the English, American and French revolutions, and how these different democracies evolved and began to spread in Europe and the world.
